My kids have been in hockey for 7 or eight years....something like that. Of course I appreciate all the great things that they get out of this sport. But I also appreciate all the things I get out of it too.
I could make a long list, but at the top of the list would definitely laughter. I do love to laugh and I've done my fair share of that throughout the years...many times at my own expense.
But the two at the very top of the list are french fries and friendships. Over the years, I've met other parents who have become friends. While we may only see each other during the winter months, and at games, they are still friendships I treasure.
French fries? well, I've been to quite a few rinks over the years, testing the fries at every corner of the province. And let me just say, french fries are not created equal. They have to be pretty good to past the test....I am a card carrying member of the FFC French Fry Club. And my two associate members have strict criteria as well. GAP and DL, you know who you are:)
Imagine my delight (and my screams) when I discovered a french fry machine.....HOT FRIES ready in 45 seconds.
My partner in crime thinks I should get one for my basement and I'm totally with her on this one!
For only a toonie and a quarter....
in 45 seconds (of course we had a count down with my new little friends)
slide open the door, and there you go..
to be shared with my new friends.
But wait just one minute....my associate and I have to SATURATE our fries in vinegar and salt. And LOTS of it. Hey new friends, where are the condiments?
Press E0 and put in a quarter.
and Voila:)
Bon Appetit my new little friends of Sussex.
I can't say these were the best fries I've ever had, but it was the most fun I've had ordering them.
Wow, they think of everything these days :-)
